Homemade Spaghetti with Meat Sauce

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 small green bell pepper diced
  • 28 oz diced tomatoes
  • 16 oz tomato sauce
  • 6 oz tomato paste
  • 2 tsp dried oregano
  • 2 tsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp Sugar
  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add noodles and cook to package instructions. In a large saucepan combine ground beef, onion, garlic, green pepper, salt and pepper. Cook and stir until meat is brown and vegetables are tender. Drain grease. Stir diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, and tomato paste into the pan. Season with oregano and basil. Simmer spaghetti sauce for 20 minutes to 1 hour, stirring occasionally. Can add a teaspoon of sugar if it is too acidic. (I suggest boiling the noodles after the sauce has simmered for about 30 mins, that way you get your hour on the sauce)
